A recent Facebook post shared by Love What Matters has started to gain viral attention after one customer posted a remarkable interaction with a Chick-fil-A cashier.
The woman’s deaf daughter, Cynthia, had never been able to place her own order at a restaurant before, so she was totally caught off guard when the cashier began fluently signing to her without a moment’s hesitation.
The post submitted to the Chick-fil-A in Fayetteville, NC reads:
“I would like to say how much we appreciate your new employee named Taylor, at the Raeford Rd location in Fayetteville, NC.
My daughter Cynthia Walker has never experienced a chance to order for herself without people just staring at her.
Taylor did not miss a beat on greeting us with a warm smile, and asking my daughter first what she would like. My daughter was so surprised and happy. She even asked me how that lady knew how to sign to her.
Taylor has only been employed there for a couple of weeks and she is already so efficient in her job.
We will make this location our regular stop. Everyone there was so courteous and walking around checking on customers. Great job to the manager for having an awesome team!”

Taylor’s stunning response not only made a lasting impression on Cynthia, but also on the line of customers behind her, who were equally shocked and pleasantly surprised.
Photos and videos of the touching interaction have since been circulating social media and inspiring others to support the deaf community.
The Chick-fil-A on Raeford Rd responded in writing, “‘Be a positive influence on all those you come in contact with.’ This is apart of our corporate statement. It is also our goal to make everyone feel welcome when they are on our property. Today it was a lovely suprise to receive this message. Great job Taylor. Thank you for using your talents to make our guests feel welcome!”Regardless of what job we have or where we work, Taylor is living proof that all of us are equipped to share God’s love by reaching out a helping hand (or hands) to others. Our place of work does not dictate who we serve or how we make an impact. As stated in Colossians 3:23, “Whatever you might do, work from the soul, as to the Lord and not to men.”
Whether you’re a cashier at a fast-food restaurant or vice president of a multi-million dollar corporation, we are all equally blessed with the opportunity to bless those around us. It doesn’t always have to be as big as a hefty donation or starting your own church. Sometimes we start by inviting people into the love of Christ through a simple hand gesture that says, “Hey, you’re cared for—andyou’re welcome here.”
