Hard-working, young couple annoyed with terrible service at restaurant: Fires back with ultimate payback

Makenzie and Steven Schultz celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary, they went to eat sushi at a local restaurant in Cedar Rapids, Ohio.Unfortunately for this couple, a hoard of others also decided to dine there at the same time!

They had to wait 20 minutes to get just a glass of water, and a further 40 minutes before they got to enter.They could have complained and walked away, but they decided to do something that everyone can be inspired by.

Because of this saying, “Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless.”Steven and Makenzie Schultz are the proud parents to two handsome twin boys and are hard-working employees.

Anyone would probably agree that this lovely couple deserves a night out every now and then.

But this date night took a turn for the worse, Schultzes did something totally unexpected.You can probably imagine what it was like to wait for a meal in that restaurant: Stressful, annoying, and endless.

They could have asked to speak with the manager or left a bad review on a restaurant review site.But this couple chose to do something else, something that very few would even think of.

In a Facebook post, Makenzie explained her reason: ”So, here’s the deal. Our service tonight sucked. Took 20 minutes to get water, 40 minutes for an appetizer and over an hour for our entree.

People all around us were making fun of the restaurant and how bad the service was. Yeah, it was pretty terrible.

But, it was very obvious that the issue was being short-staffed, not the server. He was running around like crazy and never acted annoyed with any table. At one point we counted he had 12 tables plus the bar.

Steven and Makenzie finished their meals requested the check. As the waiter came back, he thanked them for their toleration and patience then rushed off to other customers.

”As I sat there and watched him run back and forth and apologize for the wait, I said to Steven, ‘Wow, this used to be us. Waiting tables. I don’t miss it at all and I never loved that job. I did it for the tips.’

Steven and I agreed it would feel good to make this guys night when he would probably be getting minimal to no tips due to slow service.We walked out before he saw this and I’m not posting this for a pat on the back.

I’m just sharing this as a friendly reminder to think of the entire situation, before you judge. And always always always remember where you came from.”

Makenzie and her husband left a large tip of $100, even though dinner cost just $66.“We’ve both been in your shoes. Paying it forward,” they wrote on the receipt.
